The exhibition showcases some of the best contemporary children's book illustrators and their work; not only finished artwork but also the steps up to the completed publications. It showcased the work of Sara Ogilvie, an illustrator I've studied in the past, Alice Melvin, Barroux, Cate James and Bruce Ingman.
Various pages and samples from the illustrators' personal projects.
The exhibition ranged from final illustrations to 3D constructions of buildings or characters from the books, which is something I'd love to try out if I explore children's book illustration again.
One of the children's guides to the exhibition, but I loved the illustrations so I took one.
I approve of Sylvia :3
A gorgeous book I bought from the gallery shop.
And various cards by each artist, which have been added to my enormous card collection.
All in all a great exhibition, perfect for what I'd like to study in future, and it's running until the end of October, so if you get a chance and happen to be in Edinburgh, it's definitely worth a visit.
So there we have it, hopefully more up to date and I'll post again soon. Thanks for stopping by~ <3
