worries and wall flowers

Just a quick update to prove I'm alive and surviving, more or less! Moving out, birthday shenanigans and illness has prevented me from settling down in a creative nest, but I'm getting back on track steadily now I've moved out and feel a lot more focused and inspired, which is honestly comforting and does calm me down a lot. It is also soothing to be surrounded by plant life, which I am severely lacking in at my university house. I think I might buy a little fern or cactus to keep me company when I move back.
Since we've spent a lot of time this past year working out a stylistic approaches, I thought I should return to my interests this summer and do some self-exploration; why I'm doing illustration and how it's affecting me, or how I'm trying to affect it. I think this'll help in the third year of my degree but it also means returning to mediums I love as well as maybe experimenting with new things as I've always been quite concerned about the idea of change and tend to return to my comfort zone fairly often. I have lots of small things to do; textiles, jewellery-making and sculpture included, and I'll update as I go along. I have a few big projects to complete this summer as well as catching up on uni work.
For now though here is just a bit of painting my mum wanted for the kitchen. I'm just over a quarter of the way through so I'll photograph it when they're in place. -u-

Wall flower in progress.

Regardless of the project, even if it's not related to university I've always found painting to be very therapeutic. c:

Well that concludes my various ramblings for a little while at least; I'll try to organise a bit more and start posting properly soon. And not play so much Scrabble. Thanks for dropping by, more regular updates to come. <3
